Girls and women are subject to daily offensive statements and hear a lot of offensive and rude words towards them and are unable to defend and express themselves. Therefore, Carol Rossetti, a Brazilian artist, created a series of supportive illustrations, called “Women”, to motivate women in their fight against discrimination and gender biases. The project started in May and is still on-going.
Rossetti’s illustrations cover a remarkable range of intersectional themes, including LGBTQ identity, body image, ageism, racism, sexism and ableism. Some characters are based on the lives of friends or even her own experience, while others are inspired from women stories shared across the Internet.
