Getting along with coworkers and especially the most annoying is one of the most critical skills for success. This skill takes time, experience, patience, and a sense of humor. But who are these most awkward, rude, improper, narcissistic, and downright colleagues who will make your job feel horrible? And how to deal with them?
Annoying Coworker #1: Mr. /Ms. Know-It-All
Mr. or Ms. Know-It-All will constantly tell you how right they are/were/will be. They will always tell you how better than you they are. For instance, if you went climbing the Kornet Al Sawda during your holiday, they will tell you they climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. Not to forget their allusions about how better than you they can achieve things at work!
If you have to work with such persons, make sure to have backup documents to support your ideas. And if you and everyone else know you are right, just nod and smile at their disgraceful claims.
Annoying Coworker #2: The Cubicle Invader
The Cubicle Invader will invade your personal space: Such persons will appear into your space, sit and start chatting about anything even if they see you are drowned in work!
The best defense for the Cubicle invader is a good offense. Try to make your area unwelcoming and place any of your things on any available space on your desk not allowing in this way this person to sit for hours.
Annoying Coworker #3: The Office Bully
He is not the same as the school one who was physically intimidating and took pride in public humiliation. The office bully has some form of authority that he uses. He is the worst of all the characters you’ll encounter because he could be a key player in how the upper management perceives you. The worst part of it is that he could also be your boss.
In case you are offended by the jags of the office bully, don’t engage in any useless argument and don’t show you are hurt. Use your wit and hit back with a smart remark, or simply walk away unaffected. This attitude will upset and irritate him a lot.
Annoying Coworker #4: The Gossip
The Gossip knows everything about everyone. He is a chameleon that takes the color of any circumstances he is in and, like the devious little reptile, he is always waiting for someone to get into their trap.
The best way to deal with such persons is to avoid them much as you can.
Annoying Coworker #5: The Loud Talker
He is the person who talks loudly over the phone during the workday about his personal issues. To handle the Loud Talker, one should take him aside and explain to him that he is speaking way too loudly and becoming intolerable.
