Imagine you started working with a company whose CEO is new to you of course. He’s the type of people who make some employees bring him stories about others who he dislikes, fire employees depending on fake facts and data and make the guards walk with him, even when he’s out of office. He’s a very mean and cruel person. When you meet him trying to explain how his behavior is affecting the whole business, and you have documentations to prove that since his arrival, all is getting worse, you end up receiving a warning of disobedience. If you make any similar you move again, you are in risk of being fired. It sounds as the hardest job ever. However, you can build a safe relationship with you CEO. Here’s how:
First, you have learned that the powers of the CEO are endless and infinite. After receiving a warning, you are at risk of being fired at any time. If you want to skip that phase and go back to a safe position, read the following tips carefully:
- When you have a vindictive CEO, all you have to do to be on the safe side is to keep aside. In other words, focus on you work and do not try to grab any attention. Use respectful manners of speaking with him, sound helpful and supportive. This will make him calm down a bit.
- You need to be less stressed when he’s around. DO not try to make changes in things that are out of you power. Do not forget that you cannot change, for example, the way your CEO manages things. Do not offer your opinion. Such type of CEOs take every feedback, whether constructive or not, very personally.
- No matter how safe you are in your current position, with such CEO, never give up on searching for new job opportunities in other companies. With time and with a CEO like this, you will notice increase of stress and health issues.
It is true that CEOs who are paranoid and suspicious about everything never enjoy their position for a long term. Their behaviors and characters fail to allow them learn from mistakes or be aware of every issue taking place in the company and lead the best employees to run away. However, and unluckily, their fall takes a long time.
