When you are planning for the coming year’s targets, you and your team need to know how many goals to set. In fact, there will be several answers for such question, but it actually depends.
According to studies, one should list the most important goals at first. Then, this list should be shortened and divided into the 3-months goals, 6-months goals and the one-year goals. This type of lists will be more helpful since our brains are programmed to focus on specific things for a certain period of time. It organizes the duration for every action and gives us the ability to execute more efforts on each one on its own.
On the other hand, a life-time list is required as well. On this list, you can include all the things you want to do all over your “goals journey”. It will be wider and more detailed. Mention in it what you desire. Check it on a regular basis so you can always adjust it by adding things you want or eliminating the things you think are not what you need anymore… Subconsciously, you will be working on them in the best ways you could ever have thought of.
Now, if you want to adjust your short-term list, you need to refer to the lifetime one. You need to keep on moving things from the wide list on to the smaller one. Or else, your bigger list will just be a wish list that you won’t achieve any of its items.
Organize things the same way with your team, instead of trying to it on your own. You will probably be ruining it all when you just think about doing it for yourself. When you get help, you will get more time to work harder on personal stuff, for example, learning how to be a true leader.
By working this way, you will guarantee a successful business founded on very strong bases.
