She is the owner of Kristie’s agency, a professional self-sufficient group that specializes in concept creation, wedding planning and implementation, event management, event Production, corporate and social events, fairs, conventions, and social occasions organization.
1. It took too much effort to succeed. Can you tell us more about the path that led you to success?
In 2007, I decided to start my own business from scratch in an unstable market, with many risk factors. However, I wanted to prove to myself and to my surroundings, that if you have a dream that you believe in, nothing will stand in your way. Whatever you put your heart into you succeed. I started from my room with a laptop and a cellphone. I created concepts and organized events on my own with the help of part timers. I started from the bottom of the ladder distributing flyers in person, contacting potential customers and following up on every detail. I would work 24/7 from my heart. I was able to prove that women can do everything and can reach their goals when they are dedicated to do so.
I opened Kristie’s office in Jounieh, with four departments: Weddings, events, hostesses and promotion. I hired one employee for each department.
The business kept growing, so did my team and reputation. In 2013, I had more than 15-fixed full –timers and over 700 part- timers and our name was known outside Lebanon, such as Qatar and Dubai, and we started taking projects abroad, until we decided to open our own office in the Gulf area.
With determination and faith, I got to where I am today!
2. What would be the advice you would give to any woman who still doesn’t dare to start her own business?
Dare to challenge yourself and dare to stand out. With love, determination, courage, perseverance and will, you succeed.
3. How are you going to celebrate your success?
I will celebrate it with my parents whom I owe this success to… As they have raised me to do everything with love and never give up… My siblings, Kristie’s’ family and John Robert Powers’ family as they never ceased to support me and believe in me.
4. Do you have any project in mind for the prize you won?
We are currently opening a new office in Downtown Beirut, therefore I will use the prize to make a more appealing office not only because It is Kristie’s image but also because I want my team to be comfortable and at ease while working; it is their second home after all.
