A lot of pressure can cause a stressed employee to produce less, and; thus, affect the business as a whole. Over the past year, employees are facing a severe problem that is affecting them and their workplace. So, how can an HR help in solving the problem?
Plenty of reasons hide behind the word stress that is caused maybe by overload of work without the adequate return i.e. a very low salary compared to the work done, unbearable team, finical managers and superiors, no promotions…. Therefore, managers should try to put an end for the stress of employees because it would spread. One cause of stress would stimulate another cause of stress and so on (a multi-cause stress).
There are so many professions that suffer from a big amount of stress. A chef, for example, is exposed to a high amount of pressure and may sometimes ask for help. Another profession that is stressful is the one of a pilot who has to focus on his job and preserve the life of passengers. In addition to the aforementioned jobs, the job of reporters, photojournalists, public relation executives, architects, emergency medical technicians… carry the utmost load of pressure.
Teamwork is considered so important because it could lower the stress and lessen the pressure. A company that lacks teamwork would suffer a lot since it will not be able to attain progress and development. The manager should explain to its team how to work together in order to escape a big amount of stress and failures.
Scientific experiences have shown that stress can cause poor nutrition for some and binge eating for others. In both cases, more stress is resulted no matter how a person tries to fled away from doing so; it will for sure become an inescapable habit. So, companies should provide nutritional education to its employees and offer free fruits and cold water instead of snacks with high level of calories.
Succinctly, stress is found in all jobs but in different levels. The company along with its managers and team can work together to reduce stress that is thwarting and hindering its development. There is no problem without plenty of solutions; it depends on each one’s will.
